Femtocell / Small Cell

A femtocell (or small cell) is a mini base station the operator installs in your premises, providing indoor mobile coverage using your fibre connection. As it is the operator's own equipment, it is a 100% legal solution with no interference risk.

It is ideal for offices, clinics and premises where the outdoor signal is very weak. We advise you on each operator's options and handle the configuration.

A femtocell is the best option when the outdoor signal is so weak that a repeater has nothing to amplify, but you have a good fibre connection. Unlike a repeater, which boosts signal that already exists outside, a femtocell creates new coverage from scratch using your internet as transport to the operator network.

Compared to a DAS, a femtocell is a much simpler, cheaper solution for small and medium areas (offices, clinics, premises). A DAS comes into play when a whole large building must be covered. In the coverage survey we tell you with data which of the three solutions fits your case.

As operator equipment, the femtocell is a 100% legal solution: it does not emit outdoors, generates no interference and needs no special authorisation beyond your contract. It installs quickly, with no works, and is usually operational the same day.

We advise you on each operator's options (for example the Orange femtocell or Vodafone small cells), arrange the activation and configure it on your network so calls and data work reliably inside the premises.
