LED Signage

A shop's image starts with its lighting and its sign. We install LED signage, illuminated signs and shop-window and facade lighting that make the business stand out and attract customers, with consumption far below older solutions.

We design the interior lighting of the premises to enhance the product and create atmosphere, and we repair signs that have stopped lighting up by replacing LED modules, power supplies or deteriorated cabling. Good lighting is an investment that shows in sales.

We also work outside trading hours when the premises cannot close, and on facades with awkward access we arrange the necessary lifting equipment before committing to a date.

When a sign stops lighting in sections rather than entirely, it is nearly always a string of LED modules in series: one fails and takes its branch down with it while the rest stays lit. If instead it goes out completely and all at once, suspicion moves to the power supply. These are two different faults with two different costs, and they can be told apart without dismantling anything, just from the pattern of the outage.

On seafront facades there is a third usual culprit: salt-laden damp getting in through an aged seal or the cable gland. It corrodes the module solder joints and oxidises the supply contacts. That is why, when repairing, we check the sealing and the housing's protection rating; replacing the LEDs without fixing the water ingress guarantees the same fault the following winter.

The figure almost nobody checks when buying fittings is the colour rendering index, and it is the one that decides whether the product looks like itself. With a low index, clothes change shade between the fitting room and the street, meat and fruit lose their colour and jewellery goes flat. For fashion, food and any product where colour does the selling, that value matters more than the wattage.

Colour temperature sets the character: warm light suits hospitality and fashion, neutral works for opticians, pharmacies and food. And not everything should sit at the same level: the difference between general lighting and accent spots over the window display is what makes people stop and look. It is also worth checking whether the municipal ordinance limits facade lighting hours or levels.
