EV Charger Repair in Alicante & the Costa Blanca

When an EV charger stops working, the problem is rarely in the car: it is usually the EV-specific RCD, an earth fault, the Type 2 cable or the current configuration. We diagnose the exact cause with proper instrumentation, not by blind replacement.

We repair Wallbox Pulsar, V2C Trydan, ABB Terra, Schneider EVlink, Circutor and most brands installed in Alicante. If the fault is in the upstream installation (line, protections or panel), we fix that too — we are licensed electricians, not just equipment fitters.

A steady or flashing red light is how the charger reports a safety fault: earth leakage, communication error with the vehicle, overcurrent or a tripped RCD. Each flash pattern points to a different cause, and we read it to go straight to the source.

Many faults are solved in the same visit: re-tightening terminals, replacing the A-EV/B RCD, changing the connector or reconfiguring the maximum current to match your contracted power in Alicante.

Before dismantling anything we check the charging cable, because a far from negligible share of call-outs ends there. The contacts in the Type 2 connector wear with cycles and, on the coast, oxidise as well; a pin making poor contact causes local heating, an interrupted charge and sometimes dark marks visible on the connector itself.

The other suspect is how the cable is treated: coiled tightly on its holder, left lying on the garage floor where wheels run over it, or unplugged by pulling on the lead rather than the connector body. Trying a different cable is the fastest test there is for ruling out this whole family of faults.
