Networks & WiFi

A good network is today as important as power or water. We remove the WiFi dead zones in your home with well-placed access points and network cabling, so you have good coverage throughout the house, key for remote work and streaming.

In offices and shops we install structured cabling with RJ45 points, rack and certification, leaving a stable, tidy network. We combine cable — more stable for fixed devices — with WiFi points to get the best of both.

Before proposing anything we measure the actual coverage room by room. It is common to find the problem is not the router but where it sits, and that changes the quote entirely.

Construction here does not help: reinforced concrete floor slabs, thick partition walls and, in many villas, floors separated by a solid slab. The 5 GHz band is far faster but passes through those obstacles far worse, so a router at one end of the house leaves the other end on a congested 2.4 GHz signal. In apartment blocks you add interference from the neighbours' networks on the same channels.

A repeater is not always the answer: repeating on the same radio splits the bandwidth between what it receives and what it retransmits, and the result can be worse than before. Where cable can be run, a PoE-powered access point halfway through the house solves the problem permanently and without losing speed.

For a home or office network, category 6 cable comfortably covers what people contract today; 6A makes sense when higher-speed links are expected or where long runs carry PoE to cameras and access points. The practical limit for a horizontal run is around ninety metres, and it should be counted along the actual cable route, not in a straight line.

Planning ahead is what pays off later. Leaving two outlets where one seems enough, labelling every patch lead in the rack and pulling a spare conduit costs little during the work and saves lifting floors afterwards. If you are renovating, now is the moment: with the chases open, cabling barely adds to the cost, and doing it later almost always means surface trunking.
