Alongside the main basin sits a balance tank with its own pump and level probes, and the whole thing only works if that electrical side is properly resolved. When it fails it does not fail by switching off: the water stops flowing over the edge, the pump gets noisy or the tank empties, and the owner reads it as a hydraulic problem.

Level probes: the fault that looks hydraulic and is electrical

The balance tank's probes are the weak point of the set. They sit submerged in treated water, they foul, and when one stops reading correctly the control believes there is level where there is none. The result is a pump running dry, and that destroys the mechanical seal within minutes.

So when someone in Finestrat calls because the water no longer spills evenly over the edge, the first thing we check is not the pump but the level reading and the control interpreting it. Replacing the pump without correcting the cause leads to replacing it again.
