Pool Electrical in Ciudad Quesada

In Ciudad Quesada the pool's electrics almost always live inside the filtration hut, and it is that little space that ends up causing the trouble.

They are small huts with the floor below the waterline and little ventilation, so the damp inside is permanent. The panel corrodes from behind while the front still looks new, the cable glands dry out, and the pump motor works thirty centimetres from a floor that gets wet every time the filter is cleaned. We check the whole hut, not just the part that failed.

Renewing a 1990s pool installation

Much of Quesada went up in two building waves, and with them came hundreds of pools whose huts remain exactly as they were handed over. What we find is usually the same: a panel with no ingress rating for that environment, taped joints inside a box that filled with water years ago, and a single switch covering pump, light and cleaner.

Renewal is not a matter of swapping devices one at a time. Where the hut allows it we move the panel to a dry, ventilated spot, split the loads so one leak does not kill everything, and seal the cable entries properly. A pump lasts longer once it stops starting with condensation inside its terminal box.

The meter cabinet: this is where we see what supply is available and how a new line can leave without disturbing what is already there.

Frequently Asked Questions

In Quesada, yes, because the failure rarely gives warning and tends to arrive mid-summer with the pool in use. A corroded panel holds up until the day it will not reset, and by then it has usually taken the contactor and sometimes the motor with it. Checking it in winter costs considerably less than replacing it in August.
